NICOLA CHEESEMAN IS BACK

This one-woman play starring Jodie Rimmer was shortlisted for the Adam NZ Play Award (2023) and premiered in Auckland with Plumb Theatre (2024). 

An encore season followed at Q Theatre in 2025 and the play was subsequently recorded for Radio New Zealand's Reading Drama Series. It was.part of the Re-imagine Arts Festival and the Tauranga Arts Festival 2025 - and happily, it is currently programmed at Centrepoint Theatre in 2026.

Play Synopsis: Nicola’s life has not turned out the way she expected. She’s struggling with aging and the dynamic, younger version of Nicola has long since disappeared under the weight of a disappointing marriage, children and elder care.

So when she finally moves her mother-in-law into a rest home, she decides this is the perfect time to get her life back. Specifically the life she had in her 20s when she was the lead singer of nouveau punk band The Cherry Slits...
